The conversion from a mechanical Winkhaus locking system to an electronic locking system went smoothly and without any significant structural changes. The battery-operated blueSmart door cylinders fit into existing mechanical door locks and work offline, making installation particularly straightforward. Expensive conversions or cabling on the doors are no longer necessary. Thanks to the long battery life of the cylinders and the maintenance-free keys, which are not only light and handy, but also hygienic, as they can be used without direct contact with the door opening mechanisms, replacing the locking system also offers long-term investment security. Programming the components and administrating the locking system is uncomplicated and can be carried out virtually by their own IT department with the Winkhaus blueControl software.
With the implementation of the blueSmart locking system, Innsbruck Tourismus has succeeded in taking the leap into the digital age, while respecting the historical fabric of the building and at the same time accommodating modern security and convenience requirements. Unnoticed by the numerous guests from all over the world, the security of the building was significantly increased and the building management was optimally organised for the users.
