The electronic locking systems are equipped with an early warning function for the necessary battery replacement. As soon as the voltage of the installed batteries falls below a predefined threshold value, the upcoming battery replacement is indicated by the fact that only approximately every second locking attempt is successful.

Cylinders can be connected to an external BCEB battery pack or an external BCENUP powerpack using the optional BC Z30/500 connecting cable supplied. Only the red (+) and black (-) wires in the connecting cable are needed. Do not skin the wires. Join the wires to their respective corresponding colours on the external powerpack supply connection using the supplied crimp joint (use pliers to press them firmly together).

The cylinder must first be removed from the door.  
Then remove the Winkhaus logo (with a knife).  
Behind the logo, there is a Torx screw (TX 20, attachment required). Loosen it and remove the black knob cover. 
Undo the battery plug contact. 
The battery is located in a housing insert. This housing insert is fixed with a TX 6 Torx screw. Loosen the screw.  
Now replace the batteries and install in reverse order.

Do not short-circuit lithium cells (do not connect +/- poles to one another, e.g. by simultaneously touching both poles with your fingers). 
Insert the replacement batteries into the battery case with the correct polarity (see imprint +/- on the battery body). 
Always check the locking function before installing the cylinder. 
Dispose of used batteries in accordance with applicable regulations. 
The poles of the batteries must be protected against short circuits (masking with insulating tape).

Yes, it goes without saying that it is possible, but the current consumption of the operated electric strike must not exceed 1 ampere.

During the programming process, the yellow LED on the device flickers. The following statuses are then displayed via the LEDs:
Illuminated green = the programming process has been successfully completed 
Illuminated green and red = a cylinder has been connected for which no change data is available
Illuminated red = a fault has influenced the data transmission. Please try again or change the battery on the programming device.

If a battery voltage value of less than/equal to 8.5 V is displayed during the query under "Help"/"Info", the battery should be replaced.

If the administration software is not used, but the computer is in operation, the programming device should be disconnected from the interface, otherwise the programming device battery may be depleted more quickly!
